INTRODUCTION TO NEW MEDIA ART & DESIGN
The ability to create images and manipulate meaning is essential for artists and designers. In this class students learn to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign while developing skills to interpret images, alter meaning, and communicate ideas.
Unit 01 - Adaptation: interpreting images, translating meaning, working with Photoshop.
Unit 02 - Photo manipulation: interpreting images, altering meaning, working with Photoshop.
Unit 03 - Appropriation: recontextualizing images, working with Photoshop.
Unit 04 - Propaganda: creating persuasive images, working with Illustrator.
Unit 05 - Narrative: designing layouts with image and text, working with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
